Welcome to
KF6ELU's Ham Radio Place!

**My latest NEW adventure.. "FINALLY started to put antenna up and radio room creations now"!
August 9th, 2025 ! **
***As of October 4th, 2025.. Yes!! I finally got around to getting my antenna mounting set back up at my new to me place yet. Also, finally ran a seperate 220-240 AC wire line in to room for amplifier also. Its kinda a sloppy install with the wire, but it works for me! Did a first run of the whole thing back a week ago.. still good with reaching the Southern Utah Round Table 2mtr SSB Net! Still a lot to do in the radio room, but I'll get there eventually!
***As of August 9th, 2025.. Yes, its been a while for me.. Yes.. I am still alive here! I finally got around to getting my antenna mounting set back up at my new to me place yet. Still have to run a seperate 220-240 AC wire line in to room for amplifier also. Plus, this past winter super dry and windy, also, this summer so far, super hot and windy all the time. Its icky dry around here!
I am hoping to be back set up and running sometime in August. Before winter gets here for sure! I noticed in one of the SSB Net reports, someone had mentioned about the 430-440 deal with the FCC possibly selling off some of OUR frequencies there. Thats wrong I say! HAM radio Operators were there/are here first! I was thinkin about getting a beam antenna for 420-450, particularly the M2-440-18X, but when I saw about that FCC crap, I have second guessed whether to do that or not. My radio does have the capability for those freq's, but only 6 watts QRP to it. I'd probably have to get a 80-100 watt amp for it. Its all about the cost and how useable or not it would be for now. Time will tell...

August 12th, 2025... On south side of home, lookin up at it all. Still gotta fix some crooked elements that got bent a little from my move to here back in December-January, and them all being laid on the ground for a few months!

August 10th, 2025... Just an bigger wider view of it all. Still have a ways to go before the pushin it all up goes!

August 9th, 2025... I did finally get a few cooler days in the morning to get started on the side of the trailers wood bracket mounts. Had a neighbor younger guy help me with mounting it to home.

August 9th, 2025... This is the preliminary of it all. The 4x4 is 6 feet tall, which is the hold up of the weight of the entire mast. It ends up giving me an extra 6 feet higher up when its all ended up in the air!

August 9th, 2025... This is what it looks like mounted. It might look crooked some, but its not. Its the picture makin yer eyes play tricks on ya.. LOL..

August 9th, 2025... Got antenna and rotor up on to roof now. Now comes the fun part of mounting it all at top of mast. Yuup.. still gona be using my trusty Cushcraft 13B2 up there for 2 meter SSB!

August 9th, 2025... Finally got it all on there! Still have to fix the leveling rope with the beam boom length. Also, align rotor in correct north place. If you look to the lower left corner of the pic, you can see one of the ankoring spots. I do already have the concreted in steel poles ankord at each of the 4 corners of my lot, and guy wires ran so far.
(Pic below here info)
August 9th, 2025... Have the 4 lengths of guy wires in place for each of the antenna, and for security cameras. Still have to straightern all the elements on the antenna. It does git stupid windy around here a lot! Of course, I do still have my little weather gauge up there also.

August 9th, 2025... This is what it looks like up there for now. Still lots of little stuff to fix before pushing the thing up any. Antenna will be up around 50 feet when done up thar!

August 9th, 2025... This is what Im using for extra antenna storage for now. All my beam antennas are CushCraft brand, 2 meter, and have 1 extra 13B2, and 2 A144S. At least they are not just laying on the ground anymore. Still have to build me a garage storage shop place yet!
