**My latest 'Ham Radio dream come true'
project November 26th+, 2021 !**

(About the Pic's and info below here)
And so.. my DREAM finally beginz!
Ever since I first got my Ham license, back in 1996, and I had gotton real big in to 2 meter SSB, I still am again, and I have always only used a Mirage B-1018-G 150 watt amplifier. I have always dreamed of having a (1KW) 1,000 watt 2 meter SSB amplifier. I originally ordered it back in February 2021. After 25+ years of dreaming and waiting, I FINALLY have one now!

I also have a 240v AC to 50V DC 48A, Meanwell RPS-2400-48 power supply for it. Unfortunately though, when I was wiring my homes breaker box over towards my radio desk, I got in a hurry, of course, and wired the power supply wrong! I hooked the 240AC on to the 50V DC output of the power supply!! YES.. it blew every breaker in my house, and outside at the main power meter! DAMM THAT WAS STUPID FRACKIN DUMMM!!! It does not work anymore :-(

So.. not able to use my amp yet. Have to order / buy another power supply for it. I do know now, the hard expensive way, that I figured out wiring the power supply properly, as some of the pictures will show, so when the new one gets here, I wont blow it up too!! Oh ya... the amplifier itself, was NOT hooked up in any way to the power supply when my screw up happen.. thank God!!

It sure frustrating me to not be able to use my big gun amp with it just sitting there, and it waiting for me to just pull the trigger .. HiHi ! I gona put a gittin on it all there soon as I can.

This is the way my whole station set up looked, before I began the modifications to everything. Figuring out the plan of where to rearrange everything.

(Pic below here info)
Well.. it looks like the empty space there at the left of the table, is where I am going to put the power supply and the big amplifier at. I moved the one 35A supply and the Mirage 150w amp up to the top shelf for now, until I can figure out where to put the 150w so its not just sitting on top of the supply. Just temporary for the amp for now.

(Pic below here info)
This is what the MeanWell RSP-2400-48 power supply, 240AC input, to 50V and 48A output, looked like when I took it out of the box.

(Pic below here info)
This the wiring harness that came with the amplifier, for hooking power supply to back of input on amplifier.

(Pic below here info)
This is my grand opening of the box my amplifier was shipped in. Nice packin job for sure.

(Pic below here info)
Amplifier out of box with major bubble wrap on it. Its in there somewhere.. HiHi !

(Pic below here info)
Ta - Daa! Front view of the amplifier out of the bubble wrap, and temporarly sitting on radio desk, where it will be for when the time comes when its all hooked up, etc.

(Pic below here info)
This is what the back of the amplifier looks like.

(Pic below here info)
This is a total view of station and where the amplifier will be located at, when the time finally comes. I know.. wires all over the place! It will be eventually cleaned up!

(Pic below here info)
Back of power supply and amplifier.

(Pic below here info)
Everything sitting in preparation for wire hook ups. The big orange wire, is 10AWG- 3 that comes from the breaker box. Oh ya.. pay no attention to the wires that this shows are hooked to the power supply.. they be wrong! The white neutral wire is NOT used for 240AC hookup!

(Pic below here info)
Just another wider view of the process.

(Pic below here info)
View of my nearby breaker box panel before intalling / running the big power wires. The bottom left green colored breaker is where it s going to hook in to from. Wires there now, not used in home.

(Pic below here info)
This is the finished project of my electrician freind helping me hook up in breaker box and making the pretty gray pipe with wire in it, over to my radio area. Luckely, its not too far away for me. And.. I wont trip over the thing when I go through the doorway.. HiHi !

(Pic below here info)
Closer view of breaker box after wire installations.

(Pic below here info)
This view of the wire mess, but, with it wired properly on the back of power supply. Had to use some stranded 10AWG from the solid of the main wire to back of supply for 240AC in. Too much tension on the back of the supply with the solid wires.

(Pics below here info)
OK.. the supply wired right, with the pig tail harness 2 main wires from the 2 bars that are the 50V DC output to the amplifier. Harness is NOT plugged in to the amplifier at all yet here.

(Pic below here info)
Pic of when I first tested the power supply, AFTER I had wired the 240AC wrong to it, to see if it MIGHT still work right. OK.. YES, the power supply DID still power on, surprizingly, BUT.. the 50V DC was totally gone.. no output at all to it! DANNGGG.. I fried it yucky there! So.. thats why I have to buy another one. Nothing like learning the hard expensive way, huhh

(Pic below here info)
Power supply mounted where it will be at. Somewhat easy exchange when I get the new power supply sometime in December 2021.

(Pic below here info)
View of it all, with the amp sitting where it will be also. Still do not have the supply power out hooked to the back of the amp, for obvious reasons for now.

(Pic below here info)
Full view of what it will all look like. It sure hurts some having it sitting there, and NOT being able to use it yet! I waited a lot of years to get one, so, I guess another couple weeks wont hurt too much, until power supply replacement gits here. Sometime in December 2021. Looks great though!!
